Environmental Footprint
Environmental

We want to protect the environment and protect our future legacy in everything we do. Managing our environmental foorprint is an integral part of our business. From managing our waste, controlling our carbon and resource usage, we are in a strong position to encourage and lead in environmental best practice.

Minimizing waste- zero waste  to landfill

We now have the best ever understanding of what waste we generate/send for treatment or disposal.  In 2015 we started our journey of zero waste to landfill which seen WJM introducing new methods to improve site segregation and recycling. Since then significant improvements have been made,  with over 98% of our waste being recycled elsewhere.

Cutting our carbon footprint

WJM have long recognized the consequences of CO2 emissions and how our services and the products we source contribute to climate change, and there is a real focus and drive to minimize the environmental impact of all we do.

For many years we have had our own CO2 reduction targets driven by a number of factors:

  • Security of our energy supply: ensuring the business can run without using unsustainable fossil fuels.
  • The Business need to operate efficiently &  cost less to operate.
  • Legislation requirements including Carbon Reduction Commitment Energy Efficiency Scheme (CRCEES)
  • The future of our legacy in this world
Sustainable materials

Our experience of using only sustainable materials/products allows us to propose solutions which are more environmentally-friendly – and cheaper.  We are committed to ensuring our environmental strategy is shared by our employees, our supply chain and our interested parties. Therefore reducing our environmental impact must start right from the first stage of our projects.

WJM is ISO 14001 accredited and all our environmental policies and procedures are audited annually by external auditors to ensure our Environmental Management Systems meet the robust standards required.
